Bank Norwegian was established in the summer of 2007, at first as a support platform for Norwegian Air Shuttle’s loyalty program Norwegian Reward. In September the same year, we obtained a banking license and could officially call ourselves a bank. A couple of months later, in November, our digital bank was introduced to the Norwegian market.
Expansion to the Nordics and Europe
In 2013, the bank expanded to Sweden and continued in 2015 with growth in the Nordics, as we launched in both Denmark and Finland. In 2021, we launched our digital services in Germany and Spain. More than 1,7 million customers have through our products, consumer loans, credit cards and savings accounts, chosen Bank Norwegian as their secondary bank.
Stronger together with Nordax Group
In November 2021, the Swedish bank Nordax AB became sole owner of Bank Norwegian and in November 2022 the two banks merged, and Bank Norwegian became a branch of Nordax Bank AB. Together with Nordax, we will continue to grow as the digital leader for personal loans, credit cards and savings accounts in Europe.
Even though the ownership of our bank has changed, our products and brand have not. Our goal remains: to provide user-friendly and digital banking services.
Our passion is to improve customer experience through technology and customer insights. We are a small team of about 160 employees across 21 nationalities.
